Hardin Mt To Sheridan, Wy

July 11, 2010
86 miles

Another wonderful day to ride. We woke up early as we had a big day, mileage wise. The breakfast at the Rodeway Inn was weak and I was hungry about an hour after we started rolling.

It was raining very lightly as we left Hardin. Ziva and Susan wanted to go out of town as a group. I ended up riding with them all day.

Stopping at an American Museum

Awesome road conditions

Even though we had a little rain, we enjoyed this ride very much. The clouds kept the temps. down and we were comfortable.

Lunch Stop

We used frontage roads paralleling I-90 all day long. Some of these roads had no traffic on them and they proved to be perfect for cycling.

About 50 miles into the ride we reached the Wyoming boarder. Although we had a great time in Montana, it was good to cross into another state to feel a sense of accomplishment.

Nancy and Ken had been riding with us along this section.

We got into Sheridan around 3 :00 p.m. I am sharing a room with Ed at the Trails Inn Hotel. Our room looked out to a number of train tracks with long trains rolling through carrying coal.

Tim, Dick, Tom, Ed and I had dinner at the hotel restaurant. After dinner we met for another nightly meeting to go over the route for tomorrow. When the meeting was over people mentioned that after 21 plus days of riding it is very common to get all sorts of butt pain issues. Including rashes etc. I am no exception to those issues. Discussions about "Butt Butter" application and methods of preventing pain in the derriere was a bit bizarre and comical.
