73 miles
Because we had a lot of turns to follow on today's route, most of us decided it would be a good idea to stay as a group during the ride today.
We all left New Ulm UCC church around 8:00 a.m. We took a few streets to head out of town and eventually got onto Hwy 68 for about 22 miles. There was little traffic and the road had rolling hills lined with corn and soybean fields. Again we lucked out on the weather as it was cool in the morning with a slight breeze.

When we got to Mankato we met up with Ken at a park. He lead us through the city to the Sakatah Singing Hills Trail.
We followed Ken for about 8 miles until we joined Blaine at our lunch stop at the beginning of the trail. This trail is the longest bike trail I have been on (about 40 miles.)
Along the trail we stopped in one little town and got some ice cream. Then we continued riding east.
The trail ended in Fairbaut. We traveled up a busy road to get to our home for tonight- the AmericInn in Fairbault. We ordered take out from an Italian restaurant and ate dinner in the hotel lobby dinning room.
Fairbault is named after a french fur trader and the town was established in 1826. The population is around 20,000.
