75 Miles
It was nice to sleep in a comfortable bed at the Clarion Inn in Gillette. We had breakfast at 6:00 a.m. and I started the ride by myself. I headed east from Gillette on Hwy 51 and passed a large coal power plant. The road paralleled I-90 to Moorcroft. (about 29 miles)

Our first snack stop was in Moorcroft. It was next to a C-store. As I was talking with Tim and Blaine most of the group showed up.

The group headed southeast to Upton and had a great tailwind. Also, we lucked out on the weather again as it was cool.
Our lunch stop was in Upton and Tim and Blaine provided an great lunch. Not only did they have various lunch meats, veggies and spreads, they also had two types of hummus, pita bread and fruits. The lunch stop was in a hilly area with some trees. We had not seen many trees for the past week.
After the lunch stop we hit a 8 mile stretch of road construction. When I got through the construction I got to ride on new, smooth pavement with a tailwind. It couldn't get much nicer than that.
Arrived in Newcastle around 2:00 p.m. and found our home for the night, the Senior Center. The women in our group made a wonderful mexican dinner. After dinner we gave Tim a cowboy hat as a going away present and thanked him for his wonderful support.

Road surface for 4 miles, this stuff causes your hands to get numb. It was called "milled pavement"
I guess they allow really long gas trucks in Wyoming, How many wheels does this thing have ?
