5 Miles
It was a short riding day today as we had to cross Lake Michigan by ferry. We were staying 3 miles north of town in a church and we didn't have to be at the dock until after 12:00 p.m.
Susan and I rode to a famous local bakery for scones and then to an Italian delicatessen for sandwiches to take on board with us for the four hour ferry ride to Ludington, Michigan.
A great saying at the Manitowac bakery
We all got to the dock around the same time and loaded the bikes in the trailer. Susan, Ziva and I had deck chairs on the port side of the boat.
We sat with Dick for a while. When we got to Ludingtown we all said our goodbyes to Dick as this was his final day for the tour. Dick was a great guy and we will miss him. Hope to see him again in Vermont.
We arrived in Ludington and lost an hour since we are now in the Eastern time zone. We didn't get to dinner until around 8:30 at a restaurant up the street from our hotel.
Tomorrow we will have our first full day of riding in Michigan. Also Ziva will join us for part of the ride.
